Beurer PO 40 pulse oximeter, measurement of oxygen saturation (SpO₂), heart rate (pulse) and perfusion index (PI), painless use, color display, gray single
Beurer PO 40 pulse oximeter, measurement of oxygen saturation (SpO₂), heart rate (pulse) and perfusion index (PI), pain-free use, color display, gray
The Beurer PO 40 pulse oximeter, for practical self-monitoring of your arterial oxygen saturation, your heart rate (pulse) and your pulse modulation index (PMI) at home and on the go.The body's oxygen requirementThe human organism needs approx. 400 l of oxygen (O2) every day. Oxygen keeps the body's cells alive and functioning. In order to transport this amount of oxygen, a “transport substance” is required, hemoglobin. The hemoglobin contained in the red blood cells stores oxygen. The organs are thus supplied with oxygen via the bloodstream.Important features of the pulse oximeter:Very simple and completely painless measurementSymbol display in case of restless measurementEasy-to-read color display with 6 viewing perspectivesAdjustable display brightnessGraphic pulse displayIncl. Tether and belt bagHow is oxygen saturation determined?Oxygen saturation can be measured without taking blood. The color of the blood allows conclusions to be drawn about oxygen saturation: Light red: high oxygen saturation. Dark red: low oxygen saturation. Oxygen saturation provides information about how much percent of the hemoglobin in arterial blood is loaded with oxygen. It is therefore an important parameter for assessing respiratory function. People with low oxygen saturation levels increasingly experience the following symptoms: shortness of breath, increased heart rate, loss of performance, nervousness and sweating. A pulse oximeter is useful for high-risk patients such as: people with heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchial asthma, athletes and healthy people who move at high altitudes (e.g. mountaineers , skiers or sport pilots) In healthy people, the oxygen saturation is in the range of approx. 94% to 99% (Source: Based on “Windisch W et al. S2k guideline: Non-invasive and invasive ventilation as a therapy for chronic respiratory insufficiency Revision 2017; Pulmonology 2017; 71: 722795”). Note: For the measurement, it is important that the finger meets certain minimum dimensions (1cm wide, 0.5cm high) and is clean. It must also be inserted into the device as far as it will go. In addition, it must be noted that the measurement should not be carried out during strong movements - this can distort the results or cause the finger to slip and thus interrupt the measurement.
Product Features
- Simple and painless: The pulse oximeter measures your oxygen saturation (SpO2), your heart rate (pulse rate), and your perfusion index (PI), no blood draw is required for clinically validated accuracy for use at home /li>
- Symbol display in case of unsteady measurement: In the event of an unsteady measurement, a question mark symbol appears on the color display and you can carry out the measurement again for reliable values.
- Practical color display: The PO 40 pulse oximeter from Beurer is equipped with an easy-to-read color display and 7 display formats
- Health monitoring: The pulse oximeter is suitable for checking and regularly monitoring oxygen saturation. Respiratory diseases such as asthma, COPD and other lung diseases can lead to a drop in oxygen saturation.
- Sport at high altitudes: A pulse oximeter is suitable for healthy people and athletes in order to be able to monitor oxygen saturation even in environments with lower oxygen levels.
